.XMP files don’t install directly in the Lightroom Mobile app — BUT you can use them if you sync them from your desktop.
Here’s how:Option 1 – Sync from Desktop (easiest if you use Lightroom CC):

- Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC (desktop)
- Lightroom Mobile (free app)
- .XMP and/or .DNG preset files
- A place to save them (Downloads folder, Dropbox, iCloud, etc.)
🔧 HOW TO INSTALL .XMP FILES ON DESKTOPLightroom Classic:
- Open Lightroom Classic
- Go to the Develop module (D)
- Find the Presets panel (left side)
- Click the + icon → Import Presets
- Select your .xmp files or folder
- Click Import — you’re done!
- Open Lightroom
- Click the Edit icon (sliders on the right)
- Scroll to Presets panel
- Click the ••• (three-dot) menu → Import Presets
- Choose your .xmp files or folder
- Click Import
📸 HOW TO USE .DNG FILES ON DESKTOP (Copy/Paste Style)
- Import the .DNG file like a photo
- Open it in Develop or Edit mode
- The preset is already applied to that photo
- Copy the settings:
- Classic: Ctrl + Shift + C
- CC: ••• menu → Copy Edit Settings
- Go to your own photo
- Paste the settings:
- Classic: Ctrl + Shift + V
- CC: ••• menu → Paste Edit Settings
- Optional: Save as a Preset (click + in Presets panel → Create Preset)
📱 HOW TO USE .XMP FILES ON LIGHTROOM MOBILE
.XMP files don’t install directly in the Lightroom Mobile app — BUT you can use them if you sync them from your desktop.

- Install your .xmp presets on Lightroom CC desktop (see above)
- Make sure you're logged into the same Adobe account on desktop and mobile
- Lightroom will automatically sync your presets to your phone app
- Open Lightroom Mobile → Go to Presets panel — your presets will be there!
📱 HOW TO USE .DNG FILES ON MOBILE (No desktop needed)
- Save the .DNG files to your phone (Dropbox, Files app, or AirDrop)
- Open the Lightroom Mobile app
- Tap the “+” to add photos → Import the .DNG file(s)
- Open the .DNG image — preset is already applied
- Tap the ••• menu → “Copy Settings”
- Open your photo → Tap ••• → “Paste Settings”
- Optional: Tap Presets → “Create Preset” to save it for future use

- .XMP = best for desktop workflows
- .DNG = best for mobile use or manual install
- Lightroom CC = easiest way to sync presets between devices
